Collaboration that strengthens community and learning.
The Canadian Rockies Outdoor Learning Centre (OLC) is deeply rooted in relationships. The success of its programs is made possible through strong partnerships with organizations that share a commitment to youth, education, and connection to the land. These generous collaborators bring expertise, resources, and mentorship that enrich every student experience.
Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation
The OLC is sincerely grateful for the ongoing support of the Wim and Nancy Pauw Foundation. Their investment in local youth makes it possible for ALL Canadian Rockies Public Schools (CRPS) students to access hands-on, healthy, and meaningful learning experiences. Through their generosity, students are able to engage in outdoor programs that build confidence, wellness, and leadership.
Lake Louise Ski Resort
Lake Louise Ski Resort plays an essential role in delivering Winter Travel 15. Students spend two full days learning at the resort, receiving expert instruction in skiing and snowboarding, avalanche awareness, and emergency response. Through job shadowing with ski patrol students gain real-world experience in a professional outdoor setting.
Improvement District No. 9
The OLC is honoured to receive financial support from Improvement District No. 9. These contributions have helped bring programs to life by supporting course development, staffing, and resource expansion. Their generosity directly impacts students and families, opening the door to life-changing outdoor learning opportunities.
Alberta Parks
Alberta Parks has been a foundational partner in the growth of the OLC. Staff members contribute valuable ecological, historical, and educational knowledge that enriches every program. Their support helps create stronger ties between students and the land, while also building deeper connections within the broader community.
Camp Chief Hector YMCA
Camp Chief Hector YMCA shares a commitment to outdoor education, leadership development, and environmental stewardship. Through this partnership, the OLC benefits from aligned values and shared programming goals that support youth in developing confidence, responsibility, and a lasting connection to nature.
Friends of Kananaskis
Throughout the school year, CRPS students participate in numerous service learning projects co-designed with the Friends of Kananakis. These volunteer opportunities have students connecting to place, putting conservation into action, working together to accomplish a meaningful goal, and learning with a local organization who exemplifies stewardship.
Edmonton Community Foundation
The OLC gratefully acknowledges the Edmonton Community Foundation for its continued generosity. Their support has helped expand programming across grade levels, providing students with opportunities to build new skills and engage in experiential education that goes beyond the classroom.
