Welcoming Alberta and CRPS Learners!

At the Canadian Rockies Outdoor Learning Centre (OLC), learning is grounded in the rhythms of nature and guided by the values of connection, reflection and purpose. Through two experiential learning streams, each year over 4000 students discover knowledge in motion, develop confidence in who they are, and build meaningful relationships with land, community and self.
The first stream welcomes students from across Alberta into immersive, credit-bearing programs that blend online learning with transformative outdoor experience. Courses such as Water Experience, Winter Travel and Summer CALM take learners beyond traditional classrooms and into a dynamic landscape where they build resilience, leadership and a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship.
The second stream is uniquely designed for students in Canadian Rockies Public Schools (CRPS), offering curriculum-connected, land-based learning from Kindergarten to Grade 8, along with two extended high school excursions: WimWE and WILD. These programs help students explore their identity, connect to stories of place, and grow through challenge, teamwork, and adventure.
Whether paddling the Bow River, snowshoeing under winter skies, or preparing a meal together at camp, students engage in learning that honours personal growth, community well-being and the power of place. These experiences build more than skills. They build a way of seeing, knowing, and belonging that lasts far beyond the course.
